Questions & Answers

  • What inspired you to become a family nurse practitioner?

I was inspired to become a nurse during my early childhood years. Growing up in Mississippi, I witnessed firsthand the high rates of chronic diseases and lack of improvement in rates. After obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and practicing for years, I desired more autonomy in actively managing patients, so I made a decision to further my career by obtaining my Master of Science in Nursing.

  • What is your philosophy on patient care?

My philosophy on patient care is to provide quality care the patient needs when the patient needs it, in a safe and effective manner. I believe that the patient should be actively engaged and involved in every aspect of care. Giving quality patient care can have a positive effect on health outcomes. It contributes to a more positive patient experience and can improve the physical and mental quality of life.

  • What brought you to St. Hope?

In my endeavor to increase my clinical knowledge in infectious diseases and chronic disease management, I was drawn to St. Hope Foundation. At St. Hope I have the opportunity to serve patients in various disease states, including but not limited to heart disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and obesity.
