Family Nurse Practitioner
With 21 years in emergency medicine, intensive care, and ambulatory care, Laveda Lynn Roberts is a force to be reckoned with. Prior to St. Hope Foundation, she managed retail clinics, providing care to both children and adults, and owned a skilled and long-term care practice.
Ms. Roberts also served as an adjunct clinical professor in critical care and trauma for Texas Woman’s University and lectured at NCNP on the treatment of hypertension.
For much of her career, Ms. Roberts has focused on cardiac diseases, including hypertension and cardiovascular. Prior to nursing, Ms. Roberts had a career in financial analysis and network communications. She is married, has three adult children in Oklahoma, as well as two chihuahuas and one cat.
Working as a nurse in challenging environments, where I saw the beginning and the end of life, I knew I wanted to have the optimal skill level to help my patients. I want to be as well educated as possible to help them.
I am Native American, and my entire family has diabetes or heart disease. Being from a rural community, I recognized the hardship it is for patients to get to specialists. Patients want their healthcare in a warm environment, where someone knows their name and talks to them in the language they understand.
My philosophy formed from the experiences I saw during my childhood. By providing education and medical care to those with a higher genetic propensity and greater socioeconomic risk of chronic illnesses, we can help them to avoid the amputations sometimes necessitated by diabetes complications, dialysis, CHF of chronic cardiovascular disease, etc.
The opportunity to grow and be a part of an organization that really cares!
